Our shea packed cream starts with only the best shea butter on the planet. No, really! Shea Nilotik' shea butter comes from an uncommon species of shea tree. The nuts produce a butter which is softer, creamier, and lightly fragrant. Found growing only in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan, this butter is harder to come by than common West African shea butter, and its quality is far superior. West African shea butter is boiled and then cooked on high heat for hours to evaporate the water. It is then often sent to Europe to be refined and deodorized (this is what is most commonly found in shea butter products). In Uganda, the women collect the nuts and sell it to the family owned mill which then cold presses the soft butter out of the nuts. This superior, virgin shea butter is rich in vitamin A.
